The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the significant amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to website reach-out to some superior variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The service level established for intervention experiences a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to enable the servicing of all consumers and raise usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
